Chuadar go Corcaigh chun an lá saoire do chaitheamh ann.	They went to Cork to spend the holiday there.
Tá an sean-duine ina shuí cois na tine.	The old man is sitting by the fire.
Iarrfaimíd air scéal d’insint.	We shall ask him to tell a story.
Tiocfaimíd thar n-ais oíche éigin eile chun deireadh an scéil do chloisint.	We shall come back some other night to hear the end of the story.
Beidh mo mháthair ina codladh nuair a shroisfimíd an baile.	My mother will be asleep when we reach home.
Dhearmhadamair an t-airgead do thabhairt Linn.	We forgot to bring the money with us.
Beid siad ag dul go Cill Airne amáireach.	They will be going to Killarney tomorrow.
D’iarras orthu siúcra agus plúr do cheannach dom.	I asked them to buy sugar and flour for me .
Beimíd ag fanúint leo ag an stáisiún.	We shall be waiting for them at the station.
Duart leo gan glaoch chun mo dhearthár, mar tá sé as baile.	I told them not to call on my brother, for he is away from home.
Nuair a bheir ag teacht thar n-ais, ná dearmhad Peadar agus Síle do thabhairt leat.	When you will be coming back, do not forget to bring Peter and Sheila with you.
Tá an ceannaí tagtha chun féachaint ar an gcapall.	The buyer has come to look at the horse.
Nach trua gan m’athair do bheith anso roimis?	Is it not a pity that my father is not here to meet with him?
Níor mhaith liom an capall do dhíol gan é do bheith ann.	I should not like to sell the horse without his being there.
Déarfad leis an gceannaí teacht lá éigin eile.	I shall tell the buyer to come some other day.
B’fhéidir go bhfuil gnó aige le déanamh i n-áit éigin eile.	Perhaps he has business to do somewhere else.
D’iarramair ar an seanduine scéal d’insint dúinn, ach bhí sé an-fhada agus níor fhanamair chun a dheireadh do chloisint.	We asked the old man to tell us a story, but it was very long and we did not wait to hear its end.
Bhí muintir an tí ina gcodladh nuair a shroiseamair an baile.	The people of the house were asleep when we reached home
